MethData Methadone Patient Management System

When Waitemata District Health Board shifted to the PiMS Patient Management System the Methadone service required extra functionality than that possible within the main system. To provide this functionality, including client photo IDs, and detailed privacy tracking, PSAL was commissioned to create MethData.

PSAL has full IP rights to MethData outside of the three Auckland DHBs and can create modified versions for any other services supplying methadone. Ring Grant Paton-Simpson on (09) 849-6699 for a no-obligation discussion of possibilities.

Although MethData does not directly store client demographics or episode start and end details, all other information required for the more than 1,000 methadone clients is stored directly in the system. MethData contains advanced scripting and prescribing options and has an extensive array of standard letters built in.

MethData was implemented with MS Access (with VBA) for the Front End, and MSQL for the Back End. There are up to 18 different users in a day, and up to 14 concurrent users. Users log on to MethData via terminal server and four instances of the Front End are available to spread the load.
